Are you looking for the opportunity to help others? Maybe you’re a high school or a university student interested in psychology or social work and looking for a great resume building experience. Maybe you are a family member of someone with a mental illness and would like to share your experiences and knowledge with others. Maybe you’re someone who has been personally impacted by schizophrenia or psychosis. Or maybe you are just interested in giving back to the community in whatever way you can. The good new is that regardless of who you are, the Schizophrenia Society of Saskatchewan would love to have you volunteer your time with us.
The Schizophrenia Society of Saskatchewan has a number of exciting volunteer opportunities! The Partnership Program consists entirely of volunteer members, and provides vital education and first hand experience to audiences around the province, including high schools, universities, and public service and community agencies. If you are interested in helping reduce the stigma surrounding schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression, and either have personal experience with mental illness or are a family member of someone with a mental illness, click the Partnership Program link to find out more.
Beyond the Partnership Program, the Schizophrenia Society of Saskatchewan offers a broad range of opportunities to become involved. If you are computer savvy and have a knack for numbers, we always have computer work and data entry that we would love some help with. The SSS also holds a number of events year round that always require a helping hand, including our annual Triple S Scavenger Hunt. We also run a number of support programs that are led by volunteers. Whatever your interests may be, talk to us – we would be happy to have you be a part of the team!
